The new TeamDrive WebClient enables data to be shared, displayed and accessed serially via an HTML browser client without the need for a local TeamDrive client installation. Lawyers, doctors, researchers and developers, entrepreneurs and many other employees in different industries use this technology to share their information.
They overcome the problem of people losing track of the large number of files and versions when working on the same document.

The data stored and processed in these documents is sensitive, so it would be fatal if it fell into the wrong hands. “Cybercrime is everywhere and everyone is aware and concerned about its possible consequences. We have received more and more requests from our customers to improve our product with an additional level of security,” explains Detlef Schmuck, Managing Director of TeamDrive. “Ease of use has always been an important issue for us, but data security has also become essential. Browser access is simple, but too insecure. We have started to explore the possibilities of adding strong authentication to our web portal. „
VASCO DIGIPASS
TeamDrive examined several vendors for a two-factor authentication solution and finally chose VASCO’s DIGIPASS. “VASCO has a solid track record in security for years. More than half of the world’s 100 largest banks trust the company’s products. So we were sure that VASCO could provide us with the security we needed,” continues Mr. Schmuck. “In addition, VASCO was already the first choice for some of our customers. DIGIPASS for Mobile and the DIGIPASS GO series hardware are integrated into TeamDrive’s web platform to ensure secure access. The one-time passwords generated by the DIGIPASS devices cannot be reused because they become invalid after a short time.
First customer installation
Eppendorf, a leading life science company that develops and markets instruments, consumables and services for handling liquids, samples and cells in laboratories worldwide, is one of TeamDrive’s customers who successfully use VASCO’s strong authentication technology. “The sensitivity of our data has been a driving force in integrating two-factor authentication into the TeamDrive platform,” says Michael Fehse, Vice President at Eppendorf. “The web portal offered a good user experience, but it was a risk we didn’t want to accept. So we felt that two-factor authentication was required.” “We are pleased that the integration went really well,” says Mr. Schmuck, Managing Director of TeamDrive. “The VASCO technical team has done an excellent job. They have guided us through the entire integration process and their support has been excellent. “Eppendorf needed an additional level of security,” confirms Mr Fehse. “The technology seems very familiar to our employees, as we use VASCO for other solutions as well as TeamDrive”.
