Here you will find some notes on the similarities and differences between TeamDrive and Hornetdrive. The text is primarily intended for former Hornetdrive users who have migrated their data to Teamdrive.
If you haven’t yet migrated, please use this guide to do so.
Where are my files?
After migrating from Hornetdrive to TeamDrive, your current data remains in the same place where it was before – for example, in Windows under “Documents\Drives”. So you can continue working as usual after the migration.
Spaces & Drives
These former Drives are now displayed as TeamDrive Spaces in the TeamDrive app. In their function, Spaces and Drives behave identically.
If you now create new Spaces, these Spaces will be saved under a new default path and will thus be located at a different place in your file system. In Windows: “User\Spaces” (or “C:\Users\admin\Spaces”). You can change the default path at any time under the menu item “Settings” and then “Space” in TeamDrive.
You can still share documents and collaborate with existing Hornetdrive members in your existing Drives. However, after migrating to TeamDrive, you can no longer invite Hornetdrive users to newly created Spaces! Accordingly, only TeamDrive users can join TeamDrive Spaces.
(Guest) Licenses
TeamDrive also offers an unlimited number of free guest licenses. However, these are limited to the use of one Space or Drive. In return, guest users have access to all of TeamDrive’s extended new functions. Users migrating from Hornetdrive to TeamDrive require a paid license from TeamDrive as soon as they want to use more than one Drive or multiple Spaces.
In case you want to migrate a large number of guest users to TeamDrive, please contact us and ask for a migration offer.
