It is possible to use TeamDrive using self-hosted servers. This can be accomplished by simply accepting an invitation for a Space hosted on a self-hosted server. However, if you would like to create Spaces using self-hosted servers, the server must first be added to your TeamDrive client. There are three possibilities to do this.

Warning:
The TeamDrive Personal Server is EOL (End-Of-Life) and will not be further developed since 2022.

Adding Self-Hosted Servers to Your TeamDrive Client via the Settings Menu

  1. Navigate to the TeamDrive settings and additionally to the section “server”. “Server” displays a list of all host servers connected to your existing client. The “√” indicates which host server newly created Spaces will be stored on, i.e. the default server.
  2. To add or import a server, select the “+” in the upper right-hard corner of the window. You can then add a compatible WebDAV server, TeamDrive Personal Server (TDPS), or import a server from a server backup file.
    • If any tests fail while adding a WebDAV server, the server is not compatible with the TeamDrive client.
  3. Hovering the mouse over the host server (desktop and tablet computers), or swiping a host server from right-to-left (mobile devices), will display the following options:
    • “Export Server Key” exports the key of the selected server. The server key can then be imported using any TeamDrive client.
    • “Information” displays all of the server’s available information. This is also where a server’s credentials can be edited. The “Upgrade” button (TeamDrive cloud servers only) allows you to purchase more storage.
    • “Remove Server” removes the server you the current TeamDrive installation. As long as you have the server key and/or the server’s credentials you should be able to add the server again at a later time.
