In the event of damage to the TeamDrive database, an attempt can be made to restore the database by entering the required setting in the “teamdrive.settings” file.
The “teamdrive.settings” file is located in the default storage location of the TeamDrive database (data directory). Even if the storage location of the TeamDrive database has been changed, the “teamdrive.settings” file is still in the original storage location as it is not moved with the database.
- Linux:
- Move to the directory /home/username/.teamdrive
- OS X:
- Open the Finder and navigate to the Home directory.
- ⇧⌘G opens the folder search.
- Search there for “.teamdrive”.
- Windows:
- Press the Win key, enter %appdata%
- Confirm with Enter.
- Search for the TeamDrive folder.
The file teamdrive.settings should be present in the respective folder. Now follow the steps below to activate the database recovery:
- Exit TeamDrive completely.
- Open the “teamdrive.settings” file with a text editor.
- Add the line perform-db-recovery=true under “[Settings]”.
- Save your changes, close the file and start TeamDrive.
