Promoting digital communication during the lockdown for the more than 88,000 clubs in Germany
Hamburg, November 4, 2020 – In the more than 88,000 clubs in Germany, club life has come to a standstill due to the renewed lockdown. Whether amateur sports club, bowling club or stamp collector – the activity for which the members have come together may not be carried out together until further notice. So that at least communication is not completely interrupted and the exchange is still facilitated digitally, the Hamburg-based TeamDrive GmbH offers its cloud service of the same name to all non-profit associations, permanently, at half price. With the service, board members, members and other groups of people can exchange data and files in accordance with data protection requirements without the need for technical expertise. As examples, the provider mentions membership lists, circulars with birth congratulations, photos and other personal data that fall under the basic data protection regulation. With a 50 percent discount, the costs are 1.25 euros plus VAT per user per month. For private use by club members, TeamDrive even provides the cloud data exchange service completely free of charge. Only the association requires a discounted license in order to receive a contract for order processing and support as required by law. Each license is valid for any number of computers, tablets and smartphones. “Half the price applies permanently beyond the lockdown”, assures TeamDrive managing director Detlef Schmuck, and points out: “The strict data protection rules apply in the current corona crisis as well as afterwards. Sensitive data, such as that which arises in many clubs, requires special protection in any case”.
To this end, TeamDrive encrypts all data without exception before it is transferred and stored. All data is stored in German data centers. The service has the “EuroPriSe” (European Privacy Seal) data protection seal, which is one of the most secure data protection seals in the European Union and expressly recommends the use of TeamDrive for institutions.
Despite the high level of security, the service is extremely easy to use, emphasizes TeamDrive. On the computer, tablet or smartphone, the service appears like an additional drive that serves as a group storage for all team members. The data is simply moved to the group drive to share it with others. Within the drive, sub-areas can be set up, for example to exchange individual data only with certain groups of people.
A server is not required because all data is stored in the TeamDrive cloud. Backups can also be saved: If data is lost on a computer, it is still available in the cloud and can be retrieved.
