Managing Director Detlef Schmuck: “We have trimmed TeamDrive conceptually for maximum data protection. This means that our Sync&Share service is even suitable for those who are bound by professional secrecy”.
Hamburg, 22 January 2020 – Hamburg-based TeamDrive GmbH has been awarded the European data protection seal of approval “EuroPriSe” (European Privacy Seal). Both the TeamDrive software and the TeamDrive Cloud Services have been certified, the manufacturer proudly emphasizes. All data of TeamDrive users is securely stored in a German cloud with end-to-end encryption. According to information, “EuroPriSe” is the only EU-wide data protection seal of approval for IT products and IT-based services. The certification confirms compliance with European and German data protection regulations (in particular: the Basic Data Protection Regulation – GDPR).
“EuroPriSe” was initiated by the Independent State Centre for Data Protection (ULD) in Schleswig-Holstein and funded by the European Union. The Advisory Board includes the well-known data protection expert Peter Schaar. Before “EuroPriSe” became available, TeamDrive had already received the ULD data protection seal of approval in 2005 as the highest independent data protection certificate in Germany.
Sebastian Meissner from EuroPriSe GmbH explains: “We are delighted to award TeamDrive our data protection seal of approval after careful examination. Users can rely on the fact that products, services and websites certified with the European data protection seal of approval EuroPriSe process their personal data in accordance with EU data protection law or make it easy for them to use it in accordance with data protection regulations. This is very good news for all current and future TeamDrive customers.
Highest protection level for secrets
The ULD seal had already confirmed what is now confirmed by the new “EuroPriSe” certificate: TeamDrive’s software and services meet the very highest standards of data protection. In Germany, this highest level of data protection is characterized by the fact that the software and services may be used by professional secrecy holders in accordance with paragraph 203 of the German Criminal Code (§203 StGB). This includes, for example, lawyers, doctors, tax consultants, auditors, public officials and other professional groups who are legally obliged to maintain confidentiality about professional matters. For example, many lawyers already use the TeamDrive solution offered by the German Lawyers’ Association (DAV).
Seamlessly encrypted from thieves and authorities
The high level of security of the TeamDrive solution is provided by the fact that all data is encrypted from end to end and – most importantly – TeamDrive itself has no keys to its customers’ data. So if unauthorized persons gain access to data through criminal activities, for example, they still cannot read it because they do not have the key. Stolen data therefore becomes worthless. The same applies to any official orders to TeamDrive to provide the authorities with access to customer data: Since TeamDrive does not have any access keys at all, any such order would also come to nothing.
Maximum data protection from 5.66 Euros net per month
“We have trimmed TeamDrive conceptually for maximum data protection”, explains Managing Director Detlef Schmuck. He adds: “The latest certification from EuroPriSe once again confirms from an independent source that we offer our customers data protection at the highest level. But a glance at our price list shows that data protection does not have to be expensive these days”.
If you want to get a first impression of TeamDrive, you can download the software free of charge from www.teamdrive.com and try it out. As soon as it is used for operational purposes, minimum fees starting at 5.66 Euros net per month (with annual payment) will be charged. There is no purchase price, the monthly fee covers all costs. “TeamDrive is probably the cheapest way to comply with the GDPR, GoBD and all other legal, data protection and security requirements,” says TeamDrive Managing Director Detlef Schmuck.
