Using Version 2.x
Please note the following when using version 2.x of the TeamDrive Outlook add-on:
- It is not possible to update from version 1.x to version 2.x. Version 1.x must first be uninstalled (uninstalling the add-on will also remove your configuration settings for the add-on). The Outlook add-on can be uninstalled via the Windows Control Panel: Control Panel > Programs and Features. Once version 1.x has been successfully uninstalled, you may now install version 2.x of the Outlook add-on. Please be advised, that the add-on must be configured again.
- To run version 2.x of the Outlook add-on you need to have TeamDrive version 4.6.3, or higher, installed. TeamDrive installation files can be downloaded from our downloads page.
Configuration
Once version 2.x of the Outlook add-on has been successfully installed, you will need to configure it in order for the add-on to be able to work with TeamDrive. Configuration of the add-on can be completed in 5 simple steps:
- Open TeamDrive and create a Space where you would like to store you Outlook attachments. You can either create a new Space or use and existing Space. You can also use a sub-folder within a Space.
- Open Microsoft Outlook and click on “Settings”.
- Settings > TeamDrive default settings: Here you can define a general password and the duration of the validity of the attachment. In addition, you can specify whether a random file name is to be used and whether the attachment is to appear within the body of the email.
- Settings > Server:
- TeamDrive client: Manually enter the name of the Space (and subfolder) you would like to use for your Outlook attachments. The attachments will then be stored and published in the selected Space.
- TeamDrive agent: Check the box “using TeamDrive Agent” and enter the necessary information for your agent. “Server” (the TeamDrive Agent url, e.g. https://localhost:45454), “user” (username used for the Agent login) and “password” (password for the username used with the Agent). Manually enter the name of the Space (and subfolder) you would like to use for your Outlook attachments. The attachments will then be stored and published in the selected Space.
- Register: The TeamDrive client or Agent username and password must be entered in order to register the Outlook add-on. The add-on cannot be used without it first being registered. Once the status “registered” appears, click the ‘x’ to close the window.
Send an Attachment
