With the TeamDrive web app, you can now create Microsoft Office documents directly and edit them with others at the same time. The integration of Microsoft Office enables simultaneous and parallel work on the same documents. Follow these steps to create a new document or edit an existing document:

Please note: For the respective Office applications (whether in the web portal or locally on your device), you naturally require an appropriate Office license.

1. Creating a New Microsoft Office Document

1.1 Navigate to the TeamDrive Web App:

  • Open your web browser and log in to the TeamDrive Web App.

1.2 Create a new document:

  • Click on the “Create File in Office for Web” button (see Screenshot 1).
    A dialog box will open.

1.3 Set the document name and format:

  • Enter a name for your new document.
  • Choose the desired format from the list of typical Office extensions:
  • .docx for a Word document
  • .pptx for a PowerPoint presentation
  • Confirm your entries (see Screenshot 2).

1.4 Edit the document:

  • A Microsoft Office online application will open, where you can edit your document (see Screenshot 3).
  • Changes are usually saved automatically
  • To be sure, you can check the saving option in the upper left corner (see Screenshot 3).

2. Editing an Existing Microsoft Office Document

2.1 Select a document:

  • Hover over the file you want to edit in the TeamDrive Web App.

2.2 Open the document in the Office application:

  • Click on the “Open in Microsoft Word” button or the corresponding icon for the respective Office program (see Screenshot 4).

2.3 Edit the document:

  • The selected document will open in the corresponding Microsoft Office Online application, and you can start editing.
