Hamburg, January 27, 2023 – The German data service provider TeamDrive offers its cloud service of the same name as an alternative to Boxcryptor. After Boxcryptor, until recently in German hands, was taken over by the US cloud service Dropbox, many users are looking for a way to keep their data encryption in Germany, TeamDrive Managing Director Detlef Schmuck has found out from numerous inquiries. Boxcryptor can be used to encrypt files before they are uploaded to a cloud, and the software works with popular US cloud providers such as Dropbox and Google Drive. Private Boxcryptor users who were previously able to use this service free of charge will lose their account at the end of January 2023. TeamDrive offers seamless end-to-end encryption, zero-knowledge architecture, audit-proof versioning, two-factor access protection, automatic data synchronization between all authorized devices, regular backups and data storage exclusively in the Federal Republic of Germany.
With these functions, TeamDrive is suitable for professional secrecy holders such as lawyers, judges, doctors, tax consultants and auditors, which is considered the highest security level in Germany. It meets all the requirements of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and GoBD (Principles for the proper keeping and storage of books, records and documents in electronic form). TeamDrive also provides twofold protection against the outflow of sensitive data in the event of a hacker attack. If the private computer or company server is attacked, there are encrypted copies in the cloud. If TeamDrive is attacked, the hackers could steal data, but it would be unreadable because it is encrypted.
