Hamburg-based data service provider among the “101 Top Cyber Security Start-ups and Companies

Hamburg, 11 October 2022 – Hamburg-based TeamDrive GmbH is one of the “101 Top Cyber Security Start-ups and Companies in Germany”. This is the result of a report by the publication “Best Startup.eu”. In addition to start-ups, the listing explicitly includes established providers such as TeamDrive. The German company, founded in 2008, has been developing and operating its high-security data service exclusively in Germany ever since. The selection criteria used were innovative strength, company growth, management and social impact.

“TeamDrive obviously meets all four criteria,” says founder and managing director Detlef Schmuck. It is important to him: “Our greatest social impact is certainly to give higher priority to the protection of our customers’ privacy than to the possible interest of government agencies in our customers’ data. I am firmly convinced that, especially in the digital age, there must be safe spaces that even authorities cannot penetrate – and not even if the state claims are justified in the most elaborate way.”

The TeamDrive service meets the highest security requirements relevant for Germany, such as DSGVO (German Data Protection Regulation) and GoBD (German principles for the proper keeping and storage of books, records and documents in electronic form), as well as the strict guidelines for professional secrecy holders such as doctors or notaries in accordance with the German Criminal Code (StGB). Thanks to end-to-end encryption with zero-knowledge architecture, only the clients themselves have access to their data. This concept rules out the possibility of the operator or authorities or hackers ever gaining access to the data stored at TeamDrive in readable form.
